I think this highlights the BS of the taxonomy and classification system that has been made and re-made countless times over by people throughout the years.
Can they breed with each other? Then they're not a separate species. Period.
To change their classification from a sub-species to actual species is not the way to highlight and express the need to keep ones from different regions above a specific population number.
Besides, genetic variety is required for survival. Not only does limitation of their genetic population hinder their ability to adapt and survive as necessary, but the whole construct they are going off of for "species" is a total "racist" and Nazi idea. To me, this is tantamount to the "white man" saying that Negroes are a different "race" and "they" require different programs in life and treatment. We have huge campaigns publicly and on college campuses about the fact that such a thing is not based on scientific fact and has no genetic basis, yet here are zoologists saying for animals the same damn thing as the Nazis and white supremacists. And they're using it as their argument for the genesis of programs that we fought against years ago for humans.
This shit should be stopped in ALL its applications and anywhere we find it.
Hitler lives in zoology!
I just called Sharper Image to follow up on a subpoena.
Operator: "Name or number please."
RRX: "I'm calling regarding a legal matter. May I have the legal department please?"
Operator: "Name or number please."
RRX: "I don't have that information."
Operator: "I need a person's name or number."
RRX: "I don't have that. That's why I went to the operator. Just transfer me to the legal department."
Operator: "It's company policy that I have to have name or number."
Dial tone.
...
Add Sharper Image to my running list of companies that I will never do business with due to their rude and/or unacceptable practices/interactions encountered while doing my job.
Today marked the beginning of my summer.
I have been looking forward to this for a bit now.
I will have the weekends and Tuesdays & Thursdays.
I will have swims in the pool, billiards, beaches, reading, lounging, telly, checking up on lil' sis (Coop), and so on.
Oh how I have looked forward to this.
Today was such a nice day. And, believe me, it is necessary! My every other days during the week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) are stress and frustration equal to a full 40.
These days keep my sanity.
Oh, dear summer. Welcome!
What websites do you visit every day?

2. wall TV
3. double-pane windows
4. beach-cruiser bike(s)
5. euro-trip package for 2 for 2 months
You are a Reserved Leader.
about you
You are a Leader
|
|
Your solid grounding in the practicalities of life, along with your self-assuredness and your willingness to appreciate new things make you a LEADER. |
You're in touch with what is going on around you and adept at remaining down-to-earth and logical. |
Although you're detail-oriented, this doesn't mean that you lose the big picture. |
You tend to find beauty in form and efficiency, as opposed to finding it in broad-based, abstract concepts. |
Never one to pass on an adventure, you're consistently seeking and finding new things, even in your immediate surroundings. |
Because of this eagerness to pursue new experiences, you've learned a lot; your attention to detail means that you gain a great deal from your adventures. |
The intellectual curiosity that drives you leads you to seek out causes of and reasons behind things. |
Your confidence gives you the potential to take your general awareness and channel it into leadership. |
You're not set on one way of doing things, and you often have the skills and persistence to find innovative ways of facing challenges. |
You are well-attuned to your talents, and can deal with most problems that you face. |
Your independent streak allows you to make decisions efficiently and to trust your instincts |
You approach problems in an analytical way, not getting caught up in your own emotions. You are an independent thinker, not wedded to the preferences of others. |
You prefer to have time to plan for things, feeling better with a schedule than with keeping plans up in the air until the last minute. |
You do your own thing when it comes to clothing, guided more by practical concerns than by other people's notions of style. |

There's more to life than the practical - take some time to daydream and explore the aesthetic sides of things. |

You are Reserved
|
|
You are RESERVED – you aren't someone who always needs to have others around, and you find you can handle most situations on your own. |
You can be very happy spending time alone, and enjoy your own thoughts and ideas. |
You find it difficult to understand why some people get so emotional and tell everyone else their problems. |
You believe that if you want to get something done, it is best to do it yourself. |
In your experience, other people are not always completely dependable, so you generally rely on yourself and only a few close others. |
Despite your independence, you are not a closed-minded person who makes hasty judgments about others. You know that it isn't always easy to walk in other people's shoes. |
At times other people's feelings are puzzling to you, and you wish that people were more rational. |
Your vision of the world is complex – your values are not set in stone. Instead, you are able to change your beliefs as you learn new information. |

Even though it is tiring, making an extra effort to spend time with others even when you feel like being alone can have powerful positive effects on your relationships. |
Practice talking about yourself to people you haven't previously trusted. You will forge friendships where you wouldn't have thought possible, and with practice, sharing your thoughts and feelings will get easier and easier. |
It's nice that my last post is still applicable.
Have you ever Googled your own name? How did you feel about the results?

I have, and I was reminded yet again that I will have security and obscurity through blending in.
I have nothing to fear from Big Brother, not because of being hidden, but because of being one of millions with the exact same first, middle and last names.
Bring it on, Big Bro. Bring it on.
My baby is hurt.
I am taking care of her.
No more tennis for her.
Two things can be said for me that encompasses my thoughts, memories, and review
of Harvard. First, it is the school of my lady. Second, Harvard had the ability to effect me in a way that made me aware at all times that I was in a great place. That awareness stirred in me a desire not just to be a part of that greatness, but also a desire for more. I do not mean more materially, but more intellectually from myself and from everyone around me. It was a place of historical significance that permeated my mind and incited immediate academic drive.
That aside, it was also a very
beautiful and profound university architecturally. The old brick buildings are
very distinguished looking. They help to create the regal atmosphere. I say
that, of course, as a person who grew up surrounded by the Spanish architecture
of Southern
California.
The brick and stone buildings are profoundly unique to me. That Harvard and Cambridge so completely utilized these materials for their buildings, and the scale with which they are used, only helped to make the campus surreal for me.
The layout of the buildings make many courtyards, small and large,. Around every corner was a yard. Some times the yard was covered in lush, green grass and other times hard and frozen dirt, quietly awaiting snow.
One courtyard had a set of iron tables and chairs that made me think of an outdoor Parisian café. My lady and I treated it as such when we savored a delightful dessert and hot chocolate one cold winter night.
Those treats were gathered at one of the many surrounding shops in Harvard Square. The whole area is filled with modern shops and restaurants that have been integrated into the classic brick buildings. They create a wonderful walking community that allow for shopping and dining and night life right at the steps of Harvard.
Add to that the metro system, and a car is never needed. That means skyrocketing points in my book (not skyrocketing stock because the stock exchange closed long ago. But, if it was open, the stock of Harvard would be space-bound!)!
I must end this with a word about my lady. She was integral to my experiences at Harvard. The wonderful and intriguing nature of a place such as Harvard is not as potent as when it is experienced with someone equally so. Her understanding of all this, without my ever needing to tell her, allowed for an appreciation and participation in the Harvard culture above and beyond that of anything else. How much of an experience is it if it is alone?
